Gomersal Wines Wedding - Barossa Valley Wedding Photographer
With a hilltop sunset overlooking the vineyards and a stunning outdoor ceremony, this Barossa Valley wedding was a dream, and it all started with swiping ‘right’ on Tinder.
In October 2015, Lauren and Colin saw each other and swiped ‘right’ on Tinder. After their very first date, they realised it felt like they’d known each other forever. For this lovely couple, getting married means becoming part of a team, always having each other’s back and being each other’s number one.
For me, this Barossa Valley wedding shoot was a joy, with the beautiful Gomersal Wines and vineyard views on sunset to play with as backdrops. Lauren and Colin aimed for a relaxed wedding, just like a big family get together. And, that’s exactly how it played out, right down to a chilled-out wedding photography session that produced romantic memories to last a lifetime.
Wedding Planning and Perfect Results
With cheerful, relaxed family gatherings as the inspiration, Lauren and Colin were thrilled that the event management at Gomersal Wines ensured everything ran with ease. The intimate, beautiful venue hosted wine bottle centrepieces and a welcome sign created by Lauren, along with decals sourced and placed by E&K Designs.
Among countless cherished moments for the couple was the ‘first look’ at Charles Cimicky Wines, on a backdrop of barn doors and terracotta walls. For Lauren, seeing Colin’s adoring reaction was priceless, getting ready with the girls and her mum is a special highlight and the sunset wedding photos are magic. The celebrant, Rosie, felt like a friend to the couple by the wedding day and the ceremony was a meaningful experience that turned out exactly how they wanted it to.
Armed with inspiration from Love Cherish Adore and helpful recommendations from the Adelaide Wedding chit chat group for her big day, Lauren has some great tips for other couple’s planning weddings. She suggests that you do your research and trust your gut. A lot of vendors she ended up choosing were the first ones she fell in love with, but she kept searching with the idea of finding the ‘perfect fit’. At the end of the day, had she trusted her instincts in the first place, she would have spent a lot less time stressing in the lead up!
Weddings at Gomersal Wines and Barossa Valley Photo Shoots
With a stunning manicured lawn, a romantic wrap-around veranda and, of course, the cellar door and vineyards, Gomersal Wines is a dream wedding destination. By night, hanging lanterns and fairy lights set the scene, along with the corrugated iron walls of the Barrel Room. Ensconced in the heart of the Barossa Valley, the boutique winery was first established in 1887 and uses a traditional approach to winemaking.
Along with Lauren and Colin’s choice, there are over 80 cellar doors and countless spectacular backdrops for Barossa Valley Weddings. The town of Tanunda rests within some of the region’s top wineries, with leafy streets and historic buildings. Angaston is home to the lovely Saltram Wine Estate, sweeping vineyard views and soaring gum trees.
In Lyndoch, give yourself a special wedding treat via a sky high ride with Barossa Helicopters and check out Barossa Chateau with its incredible rose garden.
