Kirsty & Hugh’s Carrick Hill Wedding – A Historic Adelaide Estate Celebration
Carrick Hill is one of Adelaide’s most iconic wedding venues. Set at the base of the Adelaide Hills, this historic estate offers everything from manicured gardens to sweeping city views and the grand sandstone mansion itself. It’s the kind of place that feels timeless yet intimate, a dream backdrop for couples wanting an elegant garden wedding in South Australia.
For Kirsty & Hugh, it was the perfect setting to celebrate their love story with a Carrick Hill Wedding.

Their Story
Kirsty and Hugh’s journey began at their friend Megan’s 21st birthday. They wouldn’t see each other again until almost a year later, when COVID lockdowns led to smaller gatherings, and that’s where their connection grew.
Their first date was dinner out, and they ended up talking so long that the staff had to ask them to leave so they could close. From there, weekends quickly filled with dates, and just a few months later Hugh asked Kirsty to be his girlfriend. Even when separated by distance for a year, they FaceTimed every single night, proof that they were inseparable from the start.
The proposal came in stunning Kyoto, Japan. At the Fushimi Inari Shrine, early in the morning with the sun cutting through thousands of red torii gates, Hugh asked Kirsty to be his wife. “It was the most amazing trip and the perfect spot,” she says.

The Wedding Day
Carrick Hill set the stage for a day full of joy, romance, and timeless elegance.
For Kirsty, the most anticipated moment was walking down the aisle to see Hugh’s smiling face. “All I cared about was seeing him and celebrating how much we love each other” . Hugh’s highlight was the same – “Seeing Kirsty walking down the aisle and finally getting to spend the day together, celebrating with everyone.”
From the heartfelt ceremony on the lawns to the laughter, speeches, and a packed dance floor late into the night, it was everything they’d imagined. The estate’s gardens glowed in the golden light, and the historic sandstone house provided the most cinematic backdrop for portraits.
